OUR MISSION STATEMENT

The lifeblood of the Chico Homeless Union is to commit ourselves and our lives to ending homelessness and all poverty and to work tirelessly for the human right of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness, as well as social and economic justice for all. We dedicate ourselves to raising the awareness of our sisters and brothers in a joined sustained struggle and building an organization that can obtain freedom through a revolutionary movement. We pledge to deepen our personal commitment to end all forms of poverty, homelessness, exploitation, prejudice, racism, sexism, and abuse. True solidarity demands that we not only create the new society but also the new human being to live within that new society.

It all started about a year and half ago. One homeless and or unhoused hate filled post and comment thread on another Facebook page (BCFAC) and one little hashtag #chicohomelessunited

Now today we bring you the Chico Homeless Union. We are 251 strong and growing slowly but we are growing everyday and changing minds in the community when it comes to the homeless and or unhoused citizens in the city of Chico.

I, Donald Fredenburg, Founder and current President of the Chico Homeless Union am a homeless and or unhoused Individual who has lived on the streets of Chico most of my adult life.
